GENERAL RULES

MEMBERSHIP
Membership cards must be carried at all times when at the fishery and produced upon request, to other members, bailiffs or land owners, failure to to so will result in you being required to leave the water.
Membership is restricted to persons over 21 years of age. Membership can be refused for any reason.
Family membership is available (for spouse and children only) but is restricted to TWO persons fishing at any one time.
The Spouse or children MUST be accompanied by the card holding member at all times.
By paying the membership fee it is agreed that each member accepts and agrees to be bound by all the rules listed in this booklet, without exception. Any member who fails to comply with the rules WILL have their membership terminated immediately without refund.
Membership is from 1st April to the following 31st March.
Renewal fees will be payable before the 14th April, failing to do so will be deemed as termination of membership.

SECURITY
Members are requested to check the tickets of any other people at the lake.

CONDUCT
All members must conduct themselves in an orderly manner at all times.

DOGS, GUNS AND WILDLIFE
No member shall be accompanied by a dog or carry a gun or disturb/harm any wildlife, unless authorised to do so.

LITTER, FOOD & MESS
No member shall leave litter at the water. No food or bait to be discarded as rats could become a problem. Members are responsible for the cleanliness of their swim.

NOISE & RADIO EQUIPMENT
Members are to keep noise levels to a minimum (including bite alarms).

The playing of radio, cassettes or CD’s etc. is forbidden, unless used with earphones.

The use of remote control boats etc. is forbidden.

The use of mallets, hammers or any other striking implements is prohibited.

FIRES
No member shall light any fires unless on official work parties etc. The use of camping stoves and lamps is permitted.

DAMAGE
No damage or alteration is to be caused to any banks, plant life or property unless authorised to do so.

E.A. BYLAWS
All E.A. bylaws apply. Members must carry a valid rod licence at all times and must be produced when requested.

RETENTION OF FISH
The use of carp sacks is forbidden. Keepnets may be used provided that they are at least 3 metres long and constructed of carp safe material for the bottom 2 rings and along the full length of at least one side. Any fish showing signs of distress are to be released immediately. No fish above 5 lbs are to be retained.

LANDING & HANDLING FISH
Suitable landing nets must be used to land fish. Unhooking mats are to be used when unhooking larger fish i.e., Carp, Tench Bream. When using cloths ensure the cloth is wet before handling fish.

MOVEMENT OF FISH
No person shall introduce or remove any fish without authorisation.

BAIT
Particle baits are permitted provided that they are correctly prepared, typically soaked for 24 hours and then boiled for 30 mins. Peanuts must be human grade only, as other grades can kill fish. Animal biscuits such as ‘mixers’ must be soaked to swell the baits prior to use.

GUESTS
Guest tickets are available and may be purchased on a 24 hr basis. All guest ticket holders are to be accompanied by a member. The member is responsible for the behaviour of the guest.

Any person not abiding by the rules will be asked to leave and banned from the fishery

WORK PARTIES
It is compulsory for all members to attend at least one work party per year.
The work party dates are as follows:-
LAST SUNDAY IN APRIL 9 am - 1 pm
FIRST SUNDAY IN JUNE 9 am - 1 pm
FIRST SUNDAY IN AUG 9 am - 1 pm
FAILURE TO ATTEND ANY OF THE WORK PARTIES WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP (WITHOUT REFUND) IMMEDIATELY AFTER AUGUST WORK PARTY.

NIGHT FISHING & PARKING
Night fishing is permitted, Cars are to be parked in the car park except during DRY SUMMER MONTHS when parking around the lake is permited.

RODS
A maximum of two (baited) rods per angler is permitted, three rods may be used from Nov - March (Guests may only use two rods). Anglers must always be within 10’ of their rods.

FISH SAFETY
The use of ‘Bent Hooks’, 'Trebble Hooks' or ‘fixed ledger weights’ & Braided mainline on rods over 2.25lb T/c is forbidden. All forms of leaders are prohibited.

Any person who defecates at the lake will be banned for life. However burying of ALL evidence is permitted.

HALFWAY RULE
The area in front of your swim to halfway across the lake is your area. If YOU cast to the far bank or to an adjacent swim AND another angler moves into that area, you must remove your rods from that area immediately.

SINGLE ROD SWIMS
The old 'No Fishing Swim' and 'The Stalking Platform' are restricted to daylight fishing only and only ONE rod can be used.

SINGLE PERSON SWIMS
All swims on the lake are designated as single person swims (although Husband & Wife or Parent & Junior may share a swim) and must not have more than ONE bivvy per swim.

GUESTS
Guests are not be permitted to fish the 'Old lake' from 1st April to 16th June but are restricted to fishing the 'Island lake' during this period.

Fishery Specific Rules

DISTURBANCE
Strictly, nobody is to use the access track or make any noise that would disturb the local residents before 6am and after 10pm in May to September, and Dawn til Dusk at other times of the year.
When driving past the houses please drive as quietly as possible
Night fishing is permitted, provided the above rule is obeyed.

HALF WAY RULE
Anglers must not cast further than half way across the lakes, Anglers wanting to fish the far bank must move round there.

RODS
A maximum of two (baited) rods per angler is permitted. Anglers must always be within 10’ of their rods, rods are not to be left unattended.

FISH SAFETY
The use of 'Barbed Hooks', ‘fixed ledger weights’, braided mainline, braided/leadcore & snag leaders is forbidden.

ACCESS
The access track/paths around the lakes must be kept clear at all times.

Vehicles must be parked in the designated parking areas only.
-
Brollies, bivies, tackle etc must not block the track or paths.

Vehicles may only drive to the back lake during the DRY SUMMER MONTHS ONLY. If the "ROAD CLOSED AHEAD" sign is in operation then driving to the back lake is prohibited.
